I believe everything regarding the copyright is solved now so I'm hereby officially present the
ZORK – The Great Underground Empire revisited soundtrack.
The composer i Claire Fitch who is a very talented artist and her music is very close related to my own but in my opinon, much, much better. Read more about her at her web site fitchsounds.com.
Here a short preview I made this early morning. It's a short audio clip from the Coal Mine Area soundtrack together with a few screen shots. Nothing too fancy but pretty fun do make.
I hope it'll give some hints about the atmosphere in my version of this classic game.
Enjoy, and mostly important don't forget to turn on the sound!

As I always complain about - my english sucks. So I may have mixed up the two strange words spring and fall. In Swedish those two means "Run" and "Fall", which is what you never should do when carrying a pair of scissors :)

Did you all hear The Witcher is working on a toolset!!!!! weeee! how many will we lose to the new toolset coming out? (I have to admit, I'm excited about it)
I'll stay with NWN2 even if they release a toolset. I may be the only one but I wasn't so impressed by TW. Pretty to look at but to heavy on action and to much like Fable. I sold it even if I never finished it.
Now I'll recieve hate mail :)
naa, hehe I love nwn2! I won't be leaving it. I do think they are modeling after the nwn2 toolset though. It said knowing it would be a plus. I assume this means it will be similar.
As for TW. Dialog was VERY lacking in the beginning and slow. I have mixed feelings for the game. I loved part of it, and could have lived with out parts as well. I played Fable. "was not impressed" It almost annoyed me. lol

The trailer brings back memories of Myst, and I mean this as a praise. Seems due to the nice screenies and, of course, this great ambient track (surreal, zen-like and somehow mystical, while making you feel uneasy at the same time).
Were the tracks specifically made by Claire Fitch for the remake ?

A toolset is a very good thing to bring up the sales even if very few people will actually produce anything in. Most important though is that comunity made mods and games are better than any other loyalty system.
And that means more money in the pocket for the publisher. The developers know this since long but not all of the publishers.

I don't know if you have read the early posts on this blog. I've actually mentioned that I want this mod to have that eerie feel that Myst delivered. So when playing through the original text based game I tried lots of music until I found several pieces by Claire Fitch. Her music gave me the same feeling as the game gave me back in the 80's. The songs are from her albums Ambiencellist and Ambiencellist II. They will cost me some gold to include but it'll be worth it. The game will alos include some original soundtracks by myself.

On the Witcher toolset, their engine was modeled on Bioware's Aurora engine to start with...
I might buy a copy if I hear good things about the toolset, but I doubt I'd do more than play with it. NWN2 is still in its adolescence. I want to be there when it goes off to college. Its asexual parent NWN1 is getting old, but it's still got some kick in it.
I'm a regular reader, so, err, I'm sure it would have been one of those evening when I'm tired beyond words and can't seem to remember a ... Wait... What was I talking about again ?
Well, in any case, be it spring or fall, it'd better be released soon ! (kidding)
