Nearly there.

Yesterday I did some of the last scripting on the Halloween side project. Now I have to get the proofreading done. As the regular reader knows that's my big inferiority complex. I think I've got something for everyone. Riddles, hidden rooms, stories, danger and Jack O' Lanterns.

Halloween is pretty small in Sweden. Mostly a thing for the supermarkets to force on stressed up parents. Instead we have the Easter Hags or Easter witches that haunts the houses every easter. The kids dress themselves as the witch, often with a broomstick and an old coffee pan and begs for candy at the door. Often they bring presents in the form of badly draw paintings or rock hard cookies they have made. (That's why child labor is forbidden in Sweden. The quality is so bad *evil laugh*) At least the doesn't sing :) When I was a kid it was the funniest festival of the year after Christmas.
Easter Witches now and then. Not as evil-looking as the Halloweeners.
Well, the 1958 version is somewhat evil-looking :)

So while the older people (older than me - much older) say that Halloween will kill our traditional events I think it's great. Halloween at the autumn, Easter Hags at the spring, the Water Sprite at Midsummer and of course a bearded man at Christmas. I have no idea what they have in other parts of the world, but bring it on. The more things to celebrate and get together around, the better. Personally I'd like a day where the younglings ring on my door bringing booze for 40+ men with beard and Kojak-hairdo. Well, beer will be ok too. Can't afford to be finicky those days.

Soon I'm back to Zork!

I don't know, man - if that little girl on the right was at my door, I'd give her some money... lol

Interesting post, Ampraphael - I'm always excited to read about other cultures and their holiday festivities!

It's really hard to believe that Sweden is one of the worlds wealthiest countries when looking at that picture :) Well, back in '57 I suppose it was a bit harsher than now (I'm not *that* old that I can remember it)
