Going into stand-by for a week now

We're going on vacation next week and I'm really looking forward to get away from my mail, cellphone and IM. The only tech-thingie I'll bring along is my Meizu, loaded with 1 600 pages of fantasy audio books. In my backpack I have Tad Williams' Shadowplay and we'll skip all the culture and other tourist stuff and just enjoy reading, sleeping, swimming and eating. The sun will not make it worse :)
(Don't tell anybody, but I'll try to hug a camel)

Oh yes, we're going to southern Eqypt and a town called El Gouna. They say it's pretty luxurious there.

See you later!

Have a great time Amraphael. Just remember not to offend the camels (they can spit better than most rednecks). Sounds like it will be a great trip. Oh, and don't forget the sunblock.

Thanks Liso,
I really hope it's not a Photoshop fixup :) On the weather cast yesterday it was sand storm in the area. But then again, I'm more the sand storm and hurricane type of tourist than the average sun bathing type :) The best of it all is to get some mental relaxation and pampering.

I will Lady Elvenstar! I don't know if I deserve it, but I'll enjoy it anyway :) Good luck with the contest!

@elw00d
Thank you sir, I'll keep an eye on those spitting beasts :)

@merecraft
I will. BTW, I've sent you the "shovelable" shovel kit so you can dig in to the digging :) and I've linked to your blog too. Good luck!

Funny that you should be going to Egypt, as I only recently came back from a trip there. It was very exciting. I went there with my choir, and we sang in three different churches, two of them Coptic. It's much too much to list here, but it was very exciting, even on the flight back (I won't elaborate, but the sentence "Is there a doctor on board?" was said, and since my mother is a doctor, she had to help. In the end we had to make a stop in Rome to drop the guy off, but it's all even more complicated, though.).

Have fun on your vacation! I am sure you'll enjoy Egypt, as it's truly a beautiful country (I am a big time Egyptian culture fan, and love the country too, but just being there without the culture is nice already), with some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet.
