Back again!

Iceland was fantastic. Windy as hell, but the barren landscape was stunning. The lack of crowd was also amazing even in the capital Reykavik. I so could get used to live there. But there were not much time to look around except while traveling to different locations. The schedule was full packed and the time difference did take it's toll. The reward was that I could return home earlier and attend some pretty heavy meetings today. Now I'll get something to eat and drop dead in my bed.
T
omorrow I'll continue my play through and bug/issue hunt. More about that in my next update. I promise not to publish more boring lists :)

I'm back!

Hello,
anyone still out there? I feels like I've been gone for several months even if it just have been for a week. Compared to Sweden this time of year Egypt is a very warm place. When we came home yesterday the temperature in our house was down to 12C (53.5F). That's cold!
We had a great time at this very nice resort the warm wind from the Red Sea made it very comfortable even when the sun was at it's highest point.

The only bad thing was the Pharao's Curse over that I've included Ramses II's coffin and the Egyptian Scepter in the module. My stomach went insanely wild and the local doctor (a very nice guy) gave me two cocktails in each butt cheek driving the curse out. Then I got a mixed package of giant sized red and blue pills that I've to eat for a week.

Tomorrow it's back to work, and maybe I'll get some real work done on the module to. I think I have to begin with play testing to recall were the project stands.

I know this is mainly a ZORK module blog but I post a couple of images that I took.

Friday again!

This week just rushed by like an express train. the last 48 hours I spent overlooking the company moving to a new office. That means no modding at all, not even thinking of NWN2 or Zork. Moving is one big project alone. Moving when trying to keep one of Europe's larges IT-platforms (in our segment) running without a millisec interrupt is a crazy circus without any limits. Well, as usual we pulled it off without any customers or clients recognizing anything unusual. And I love my new VERY LARGE US-CEO-style office with a great, great view over the city core.

But tonight is Friday night and my wife have some friends over on dinner. Poor me that stay at my room alone and work on the module until I fall asleep on the keyboard :) If I do some progress I'll post something later tonight.

Back! And some everyday thoughts.

I'm back! It feels like I've been away for several weeks even if it was just for the weekend. I suppose it means that I been working too much for too long again. When RL goes on in 150 MPH small breaks feel like a neverending void. Lovely but scary :) I haven't eaten so much in years and we were almost alone on this mansion with a full staff waiting to be commanded. Pretty strange. I seldom think about how the night sky looks in the complete darkness of the countryside. I know I should remember it because I spent my first 15 years in the civilization backyard. Amazing though.
I also got lots of inspiration from the ruins around, the gardens and the 16th and 17th century interior design. I'm glad I had my new camera with me to take notes with. And I very happy that my wife gave us this gift.

One thing that I came thinking about is how hard it is for me to write in English. In my own language I'm not just a skilled writer and a real pain as a word and syntax police. I'm very, very good and quite a talented story teller. But in English and German I sucks. I can't express properly and always feel inferior and child-like when writing and talking. It's like an intellectual straitjacket. I always though it would be better with the years passing or when using different languages in work, but no. This is how good it gets and in some aspects it's a relive. :) It's a barrier that the real me never can breach and I'll try stop thinking about it. But then again it's kind of sad that I never will write the great NWN-stories and dialogues I know I can, because of this limitation.

The second thing is about work. What good does working do? It gives you the money to buy the food and other stuff, yes. But why is it so important to increase the growt. We have to work longer when we gets old. We have to work more every year. And then we have to work more efficient to increase the growth again. But why? When I took the train to a customer yesterday I looked at peoples faces. I must have looked at at least 400 people. Young, old, different sexes and backgrounds. Most of them were going to their jobs, some of them comming home and a few others without job. No one laughed, smiled, talked or looked relaxed. If mankind spends so much time working one would think it was a natural urge that gives satisifaction and therefore joy. Sort of like reproduction. But it doesen't looks so. Maybe I transfer my own feelings about being paid to work... or maybe free time, relaxing and having fun makes me think about things :)))

Next up - real modding stuff. Perhaps tomorrow there be screenies!

Have fun a work, school, home or where ever you go today!

Winter is not so bad after all

This morning, with the snow and the much below zero temperature, seemed like crap. But now when I sit here at my new favorite place in the house, with a mug of coffe and a ham sandwich (without butter), it's not too bad. And for a few minutes there was this sunshine blinding me for a minute and it made turn away from my computer and me look out of out very winter-dirty windows. The 2nd year geranum-plants are waiting for the me to prune them in a couple of week. Pretty nice!

It's probably just me trying to lose some weight and that diet that makes me cranky like a little kid.

The sun is shining!

A few minutes later...

Now I'll drink my coffe and hurry to get started on the White House on the Hill-area. The observant reader may notice that this area is already finished, it has been seen in screen shots ever since Augst last year. Yes, but I have to re-design it to fit into the looks of the surrounding woods. :) This module sometimes feels like a Neverfinished Nights module :) Don't worry I'm always finishing what I've started - even if it takes a long, long time...
